KUMACA “85-year group cuts sod for Kumasi academy borehole project

A sod cutting ceremony has been performed for the construction of a Mechanised Borehole for Kumasi Academy SHS at Asokore Mampong.

The project which is funded by KUMACA “85-year group is estimated at GHC 11,525 and expected to be completed by the contractor, Asiedu & Sons Engineering Ventures Limited, a Kumasi-based construction firm within seven (7) days.

Mr. Kwaku Amankwatia, the Coordinator of the “85 year group who handed over the project to the Headmaster of the school, Rev. Sylvester Osei Owusu and the contractor in the presence of the students and some staff of the School expressed his profound gratitude to the Project Committee of the Group Mr. Kwaku Dua, Mr. Eric Asamoah and Mrs Gifty Adomako Mensah Agyeman for their support in bringing the process to this point.

He also thanked members of the Year Group home and abroad, through whose initiative and contributions the project was sponsored.

“We as a year group want to give back to the school, what the school has done for us”, Mr Amankwatia said.

Mr Evans Gyau, who represented the year group from abroad, urged the group to forge ahead and stand up to the challenges by contributing their quota towards the growth and development of the School.

The headmaster of the school Rev. Sylvester Osei Owusu thanked the “85 Year Group for coming to their aid.

He noted that the borehole will help the school in many ways and will positively affect the lives of the students by reducing the huge water bills.

“About some month ago you came to access the school and this morning, they informed me that you are here to start the project. We are really grateful for this offer.

The project you have given us is priceless and the only thing I can say is that the Almighty God should bless you. Anytime we fetch water from the borehole, God should bless you”, the headmaster said.

He also congratulated the contractor for winning the bid after evaluation and said he will play an active role in monitoring the project to avoid any shoddy work.
